Dollhouse
by Kim, Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian
William Morrow; November 2011; 288 pages

Genre: Novel

Synopsis: Dollhouse is the Kardashian Klan’s first foray into fiction. The novel details the life of a complicated and high-profile family in the limelight, with a special focus on three sisters. The Kardashian sisters admit that this book is based upon their lives but that embellishments have been sprinkled throughout.

What reviewers have to say:
No reviews yet. But Kim says, “The novel is based on our lives but we’ve added a lot of crazy fictional twists and turns. You’ll have to decide for yourself which story lines are true to life, and which ones we dreamed up. LOL.”

Also by this author: Kardashian Konfidential, confessions of life as a Kardashian sister.

Related books: Priceless by Nicole Richie, A Shore Thing by Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad, and The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell.

My gut reaction: This one’s not for me. If I’m going to fuel the Kardashian fame rocket (built on no notable achievements), I’ll do it by observing their antics and family drama via their reality show and/or the tabloids. When it comes to fiction “written” by celebrities, my decision to read pretty much depends on how little or much I dislike said celeb. And while entertaining (think beautiful and shapely circus clowns), the Kardashians define a new level of annoying. I don’t need to draw the experience out any further by reading a novel based on their lives. That would require effort I’d rather invest elsewhere. Am I being harsh? Will you read…?
