Will You Read: No Easy Day by Mark Owen with Kevin Maurer
No Easy Day, Dutton, September 2012, 316 pages
Genre: Military Memoir
Synopsis: Former Navy SEAL Mark Owen details the top secret raid to kill Osama bin Laden in this fast-paced firsthand account from a member of the assassination squad. Mark Owen, a pen name for Matt Bissonnette, writes about his combat experience in Iraq and Afghanistan (he won five bronze stars), all leading up to his invitation to take part in perhaps the most important raid of the war.
He takes readers step by step through preparations in the U.S., leading up to the fateful night when his team helicoptered to bin Laden’s Abbottabad compound. Unlike other accounts, he admits that bin Laden offered no resistance before being shot and killed by special forces.
What Reviewers Have to Say: “Buy Owen’s book to find out what really happened that night in Abbottabad.” -Peter Bergen, Washington Post
Also by This Author: This is Mark Owen’s first memoir. Kevin Maurer has co-written several military memoirs, including Lions of Kandahar: The Story of a Fight against All Odds and No Way Out: A Story of Valor in the Mountains of Afghanistan.

My Gut Reaction: As far as accounts of the raid that killed Bin Laden go, none will come closer to the truth than this book. Why else would the Navy try to block publication of this book? Pick up a copy now before the Justice Department seizes them all.
What Do You Think? Will you buy a copy or wait for the inevitable movie adaptation?
