inTown: Creating Room to Read Event on 2/11

R2R

In October, inReads took an inDepth look at Room to Read, so we’re happy to share this announcement about a newly released book by its founder John Wood:

Please join us on Monday, February 11 at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library to celebrate the release of CREATING ROOM TO READ: A Story of Hope in the Battle for Global Literacy by John Wood. Our special guest will be Robert O. Blake, Assistant Secretary, Bureau of South & Central Asian Affairs, U.S. Department of State.

Following his highly acclaimed first book, Leaving Microsoft to Change the World, social entrepreneur and Room to Read founder, John Wood tells the story of what happened when Room to Read began to scale beyond his wildest dreams.  As he launches his international book tour, John discusses the upward trajectory of the award-winning non-profit he started after leaving the corporate world to pursue his passion.

CREATING ROOM TO READ delivers a dose of optimism and inspires action to transform the lives of millions of children through the lifelong gift of education.  We invite book lovers, philanthropists and all those who aspire to affect positive change in the world.
