The Hunger Games movie opens in March!
Suzanne Collins' young adult drama is presently being adapted into a film version, starring Jennifer Lawrence as reluctant heroine Katniss Everdeen.
Film director Gary Ross told Entertainment Weekly that they met during last year's Oscar season (when Lawrence was nominated for Winter's Bone) and she described the irritation of being primped daily for the various events-- which Ross equates to Katniss' own experiences in the Capitol, where she is presented as a potential champion. But some fans weren't pleased with the casting, favoring Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) or even Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) for the role.
