Cheltenham Festival 2019

The 2019 Cheltenham festival is fast approaching and as usual is going to be a hugely popular betting event for punters. Many are looking for the best betting sign offer they can find ahead of the event, as firms continue to give fantastic offers to entice punters to get involved on the ante post markets. Here we cover some of the most popular selections as the event is now just a few weeks away.

Champions Hurdle – Laurina

The imposing mare has proved a very popular selection for those looking to take on the two time defending champion Buveur D’Air. The latter named was turned over a very short odds earlier this season following his eye-catching comeback win over Samcro. However with that horse failing to fire since, the question now arises, how good is the form?

Laurina has been faultless since joining Willie Mullins that includes putting in the most dominant performance at last year’s festival. This was a breath taking 18 length success in the Mares novice, and in the process she landed one of the biggest gambles of the festival.

At six years of age she still has her best years ahead of her, but she already looks to be one of the most exciting young horses in training. Her trainer must believe she has a solid chance in the race to be sending her here over the easier option in the Mares hurdle. He also has history in the race with a previous mare in Annie Power running away with the 2016 edition by just over four lengths. Laurina rates a strong e/w bet against the short priced favourite.

Cross Country Chase – Tiger Roll

A horse that will now forever be remembered as the 2018 winner of the Grand National. He is now a nine year old but seems to be improving and put in a stunning season last year, that included winning this very race. That was despite the ground going against him, but if he can return in the same form this time around, then he must rate one of the best bets of the week.

Tiger Roll seems to come alive at the Cheltenham festival and will be looking for his third festival success in a row. He is only a very small horse so wasn’t expected to make a chaser following his victory in the 2014 Triumph hurdle. However he has really come into his own winning this race, the national hunt chase and of course the previously mentioned Grand national.

The Cross country race has now moved away from a handicap, so classy horses are set to dominate with Tiger Roll being one of them. He rates a strong win bet and can be supported at a general 5/2 for the race.
